The route in short
Leaving Chiusa / Klausen, you pass through Brixen / Brixen (km 13), and then the nearby Novacella / Neustift. We rise, still on the cycle path, gradually moving away from the Isarco / Eisack river and into the Pusteria / Pustertal valley. In succession, you pass Rio Pusteria / Mühlbach (km 25), Casteldarne / Ehrenburg (km 41), Brunico / Bruneck (km 51), the three fractions of Valdaora / Olang (km 63), Monguelfo / Welsberg (km 69), to arrive at the checkpoint (km 75), slightly before Villabassa / Niederdorf.
Attention
Almost always on cycle paths. A few kilometres of gravel road between Brunico / Bruneck and Monguelfo / Welsberg; and a few hundred metres of the SS49 just before the end of the stage.

Environment and Landscape
In short, we pass Brixen / Brixen, the historical, artistic, cultural, economic, social and administrative capital of the Valle Isarco / Eisacktal district, and touch Novacella / Neustift, famous for its medieval abbey. We then leave the Valle Isarco / Eisacktal and enter the Val Pusteria / Pustertal. The landscape now becomes truly mountainous. We pass Rio Pusteria / Mühlbach, and shortly afterwards the ruins of the medieval Chiusa di Rio Pusteria / Mühlbacher Klause. Immediately afterwards, the cycle path moves alongside the Rienza / Rienz River, and, with a few ups and downs, we pass several villages, to enter the important old town of Brunico / Brunek. On the way out, we encounter a first short stretch of lovely gravel road, and a little further on a second unpaved segment along the shores of Lake Olang / Olanger See, and shortly (almost) at Villabassa / Niederdorf.
